Supervising Attorney

Janet received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas in Austin and her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Houston Law Center.  Her love for criminal law was sparked during an internship with a federal magistrate and began her career as a prosecutor.  She then worked for a civil law firm and was recruited to be the Managing Attorney for Texas Gas Service before returning to criminal law and working as a defense attorney taking court appointments in Travis and Hays counties. She joined the Capital Area Private Defender Service in 2022 as Supervising Attorney on the Legal Services team.
